Completed during the second year of the undergraduate program, the Chicago chapel project dubbed Wind, Water, & Worship is a design for a combined bathhouse and chapel facility. Located in Jackson Park Chicago, the project was focusedon a site design for a pool facility and public chapel. It also added a sustainable wind turbine systemcomponent on the waterfront site to utilize wind energy asa source of off-setting costs for the facility. The conceptfor the design was focused on combining both program components into a single building to limit outdoor use during harshwinters. Utilizing a self-service system, the use of a sharedentrance limits staff requirements while allowing the maximumamount of people to experience both spaces. The parti consistsof a series of truncated forms that gradually slopes towardsthe waterfront, opening up to expansive and tranquil views ofLake Michigan. The pool center allows for varying degrees offunctionality based on uses and season, with changeable deckingsand large accordian doors and windows.
